Dear Friend,
As we enter June, we want to thank you for being part of the Musicians Foundation family and staying connected to our efforts to support musicians and their families in times of need, crisis, and transition.
2022 was a year of transition for musicians. Tours resumed, venues reopened, and music work generally began to return after COVID-19-related cancellations eased, resulting in a strong demand for our traditional grants program: over 150 performers, composers, and music educators across 30 states received our support, a significant increase from 2021 (129 musicians in 27 states).
We couldn’t have done it without the support of our donors. Thank you!
The majority of our support went to housing assistance, dental treatments, and medical bills. Although we have expanded our traditional grant program every year, the emergent needs of musicians continue to pile up. In 2023, the number of grant applications and the amount of funding requested increased by 12% and 36%, respectively, when compared to the numbers from the same period last year.
Every challenge comes with an opportunity, and today, to help close the gap, we are launching our 2023 Spring Forward Campaign: a collaborative effort to raise $10,000 by June 30, 2023.
Please consider making a contribution of $50, $100, $250, or any other amount in support of performers, composers, and music educators.
Your donation today will directly help musicians and their families pay essential bills when they need it most. Furthermore, your support will help them continue to pursue their art and enrich the cultural fabric of our communities across the country.
Thank you for all you do for musicians.
Musically yours,
David Gracia
Executive Director
