B.C. Vermeersch

Executive Director


A native of Detroit’s East Side, B.C. Vermeersch has guided Musicians Foundation as Executive Director since 1996.

Having earned Bachelor and Master degrees from Wayne State University, he was awarded his PhD from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Dr. Vermeersch also holds a Certificate from the Columbia University Institute for Not-for-Profit Management.

His professional career has been based in New York City as an administrator of non-profit organizations, including Composer’s Forum, Greenwich House Music School and volunteering with Washington Square Association and Washington Square Music Festival. B C is a founding member of the Coalition of New York City Community Schools of the Arts, and is a recipient of the National Guild for Community Arts Education’s Milestone Award.

In his spare time, B.C. is an avid reader of book reviews.
