Andrew Bloch

Musicians Foundation Vice-President ANDREW BLOCH graduated from The Mannes College of
Music with a Bachelor of Musical Arts degree, having majored in classical guitar performance
under Leonid Bolotine and Frederick Hand. Additional classical and jazz guitar studies were
undertaken with Eliot Fisk, Oscar Ghiglia, Howard Morgan and Tony Purrone.

After graduation from Mannes, Andrew worked as a studio musician and recording engineer
before co-founding Acme Studios in Mamaroneck, NY, where he recorded, produced and
performed with a multitude of artists, including George Benson, Dr. John, The Roches, Keith
Sweat and Atlantic Starr, with whom he toured from 1986 through 1990. Subsequent to four
years on the road, he began composing music for television and advertising “jingles” which soon
became a full-time occupation.

In 2001, Andrew co-founded Human LLC, a music production company with offices in New
York City, Los Angeles and Paris. Since its establishment, Human has developed into one of the
preeminent music houses, producing thousands of television commercials and winning major
awards from Cannes Lions, the Clios, AICP, LIA and ADDY awards, Andy Awards and D&AD.

Invited to serve on the Board of Musicians Foundation in 2012, Andrew is honored to be part of
the organization’s on-going legacy of giving. On a personal note, Andrew’s father, Joseph Bloch,
a renowned concert pianist and faculty member of The Juilliard School, also served on the MF Board.

In addition to a life in music and, along with his wife, Susan, raising a family, Andrew has a
passion for the arts, wine, golf, skiing and hiking the Adirondacks.
